Slowly seeing progress

My most recent forays into Chapter 1 have been productive. Degon Theef, the POV character that it focuses on has had to make some changes and his dead father had to change too. It was not easy. I cannot give myself to much of a celebration but I will encourage myself with a pat on the back.

The Elusive First Chapter

Writing takes a long time...longer than I would like. At the pace I am writing (I do it as often as I can) I will finish one book every 4.7 years. I started chapter 1 in Feb of this year and now a year is almost upon me and I have not finished it. The up-shot is that chapters 2-5, 7 & 8 (6 is being re-tinkered) are done and in being done their POV characters can be written at a faster pace. The problem is finishing the first chapter. It sets a tone, to a degree, and inserts some important back story to four of the major players. It started off easy enough but my expectations for it have stretched it out for eleven months now and I think it will likely pass a year before completion. Damn, writing takes a long time.

Slow but steady

My new writing schedule is getting the book churned out. It is slow but over all I am writing more. More to come next week. I can't wait to wrap up chapters 1 and 2.

Coming Soon: The Prologue

So the Prologue of the book is nearly done to my liking and will be posted for friends and family. I am actively ironing out chapters 1-10 and tinkering with the short story/teaser for book one. Tic-toc...tic-toc.
